Welcome to the Irish Club web site.
May I assume that, having got this far you are interested in attending our St.Patricks Day Ball? Let me assure you that you won't be disappointed. The night promises to be a memorable one. If you have not joined us before allow me to tell you what you can expect.
This event is the flagship event for The Irish Club and as such we are very proud of it. It is organised by a sub-committee of the Club's elected committee and they spend the best part of a year ensuring all the details are attended to.
The night begins at 19.00 with a cocktail reception in the Conrad Hotel. This five-star hotel is the traditional venue for the Ball and I think you will find it very chic! This reception is presided over by our honourary Patron, H.E. Ambassador Brian Nason and Ms.Geraldine Byrne-Nason. From the piano bar where the cocktail reception is held the attendees are piped into the Ballroom by an Army piper. The sight that will greet you is spectacular and quite befitting the occasion! Of course this is a black-tie occasion so the ladies are dressed in formal evening wear which adds to the colour and glitter of the night. After all, we all need an excuse to wear those diamonds!!
Dinner is served following the Presidential Address delivered by Ambassador Nason on behalf of the President of Ireland. The Irish beef is sponsored by Dawn Meats and comes directly from Ireland. Jameson and Baileys are also sponsored by PRBelux and Diagio respectivelyAnd then the serious fun begins!
This year the entertainment is provided by "Damhsa" a riverdance style troupe of three guys and two girls who will perform for about 30 minutes. This will be followed by dancing until at least 4am! The live music bands are "Hashkah" a new band on the Belgian scene and they are supported by Eagle 4 a well-known Belgian band. They will provide a wide range of music for your pleasure. And, if you don't want the hassle of driving home, The Conrad have offered a highly preferential rate to Ball attendees of only 169 euro per room, excluding breakfast.
The ICB is very proud of the fact that this event attracts many nationalities so do consider coming along to join us. In fact bring your friends and take a whole table. It doesn't matter what language you prefer to speak you will find plenty of interesting people to socialise with.
